We liked the carne asada fries
I loved this place family oriented, very comfortable. I will definitely be going there again.
I really enjoyed this restaurant for Mexican food. Granted it is located in downtown and parking is limited but the food is great. I really enjoyed the salsa that came with the chips. It was a little different than the usual red salsa found at most Mexican restaurants. Very tasty. Both times I visited were during lunch hours and the place was quite full. The owner was there each time and was very friendly with all his customers.
My favorite Mexican kitchen in San Jose. The food is so good and the portions are huge! Awesome friendly staff makes you feel welcomed. Great vibe.
The food was excellent! So was the service. I had the California wet burrito and the California surfin' burrito. They were both big and packed full of meat. I would definitely recommend it. Also they put french fries in some of their burritos which is an amazing touch!
Crane asada nachos were decent but the mesquite chicken was reheated leftovers (inside wasn’t thoroughly heated through and the skin was soggy and shriveled). This was a bit disappointing considering they rave in their website about it being an award winning dish. Everything tasted just “okay”.
This place is fantastic! Fair pricing, large portions and the employees are consistently very kind.
Pretty good burritos and the size and portion isn't so bad either.Went to check out any deals and they have 4 tacos for $8 on Thursdays. Got the asada and pastor. Pastor was better. Was too hungry to take pix.Update 9/12/19Went to try their happy hour and it's also pretty good.
Pretty good food. Tasty chips. Friendly service.
We found this place by accident, and are glad we did. It is in downtown San Jose, and the M is missing from the sign, but it had an air of authenticity, so in we went. It was Taco Thursday, so for 8.95, I ordered two tacos Al pastor, and two chicken tacos. It was 1:45 and wasn't crowded so the food was ready almost immediately. It was delicious tasted "real Mexico". The place has lots of colorful tile tables, and the long wall is filled with colorful scenes of Mexico. A nice place.
Best tacos I have ever had. The El Pastor tacos are out of this world good. Highly recommended for a cheap (and delicious) bite
This place never lets me down. Good prices, good food, good service. I especially enjoy their rotisserie chicken.
Every dish coming out of this place looked fantastic. There was a very mixed crowd with lawyers from the courts and local people. Service was excellent & the atmosphere was cozy.I have nachos with chicken and they were fantastic... Probably some of the best nachos I've ever eaten actually. My friend had the wet burrito chili relleno and said it was excellent. There is a bar here but we didn't have anything since it was lunch. I look forward to coming back.
Great place! I found this place while touring downtown San Jose. This is definitely a must. I ordered the California Burrito with asada as the choice of meat. The burrito was great. The Asada was perfectly seasoned. If you like spicy salsa try the green one!
I love this place. It is a family owned business. The employees are the greatest, and the food Is always excellent. I have never been disappointed. They always have a very clean restroom. They also have a great selection of tequillas, liquors and beer.
Casual place. They are open until 3am on Friday & Saturday where you will see many students from SJSU grabbing late night eat since this restaurant is three blocks from the university. Their burritos are pretty good and prices are on the low side.
I went to San Jose back in November 2018 for a conference and in the hopes of find some awesome Mexican food since I have not found that much on Cape Cod. I went for a walk around the downtown area my last night there looking for a place to eat and found this small, diner looking restaurant and ordered a Chicken Chimichanga and 2 Tacos Al Pastor (which was only $15.00 for both). Had I known the size of the Chimi, I probably wouldn't have order the tacos because it was huge and I could not eat the whole thing. The also gave me a bag of chips and salsa so needless to say, I did not go to bed hungry that night. The tacos were served in some warm and soft corn tortillas topped with cilantro and salsa...good thing I do not live nearby or I would weight 500 lbs. Got the food for take out and went back to hotel to eat. Great food that tasted awesome. Thank you for the great experience!! Exactly what I hoped to have while visiting out there.
When I moved here from southern California I thought good Mexican food didn't exist up here. I was mostly right until I found Muchos! Always really friendly and attentive. They have a bar and delicious food! Great choice any time!
Another visit this time in the late afternoon. The food and service was good. An option for a beer would have been great.
Amazing salsa. Phenomenal tacos al pastor. The chicken pozole was awesome too.
Hard liquor and tacos in the morning! This place opens at 9am on a Saturday! Perfect if you have a craving for tacos or breakfast burrito in the morning. The shrimp taco was nicely flavored and the shrimps has a good bouncy texture. My only complain is that the seafood tacos are almost $5 for one, a bit pricey I think. The horchata is refreshing and not too sweet. Check out their display of hot sauce bottles behind the bar. Yes, alcohol is served here too, it is a bar.
Had a huge meal. Ordered the California Burrito. It's a bit of a fusion of Mexican and American. There is a lot on their menu, and they have specials on Saturday. When you dine in, you get a small bowl of chips and salsa with your meal.
One friend had the ribeye, and escargot, the others split a vegetarian pasta and an appetizer that I don't remember the name of, it was like a goat cheese veggie pastry. Everyone LOVED their food. If you can get a reservation do so. But when you walk into original Joe's restaurant you're going to enter a time warp. It will be 1970 or so brace yourself. And the food will be outstanding.
